My Great Grandfather, Hollis Brayton Paul, preferred to be addressed as Brayton. So that is the name I will use with these photos.
I believe the photo below was taken at the time of Brayton and Adella's wedding in 1868.
I don't know the date of the next photo, but it is obviously later in their lives.
The next photo was taken in front of the cabin where the family lived after moving from New York to Minnesota. Brayton is seated. From left to right are Walter, Adella, Grace, Andrew and Clara.
The next four photos are of Adella. I don't have dates for any of them, but they show the kind, quiet woman described in some of the writings by her sons.
The photo below is my favorite of my Great Grandmother, Adella. She is standing in the doorway of the cabin the family lived in near Barnum, Minnesota. It is said she loved to stand there to watch the sunset and to see the deer as they came out of the forest onto the field at dusk to feed.
